Lanvin's Men's Fall 2026 Collection: A Plush Celebration of a Century
Lanvin, a fashion house celebrating its 100th year in menswear, unveiled its fall collection with a nod to its rich history and artistic director Peter Copping's vision. The collection draws thematic inspiration from founder Jeanne Lanvin's trip to Venice with her niece Marianne in the 1920s, featuring intricate details and a blend of old-world charm and modern sophistication.
The collection showcases a range of luxurious textures, including Fortuny pleating on tuxedo pants, mottled prints reminiscent of mid-century Murano glassware on camp shirts, and plush velvet jacquards from the renowned Venetian textile firm, Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua. These textures are expertly utilized on jeans, denim jackets, and slippers, adding a touch of opulence.
Copping's attention to detail extends to the set design of Lanvin's showroom, where he recreated a gentleman's living room with a unique blend of vintage and modern elements. Weathered hoodies drape over Art Deco chairs, and leather pouches rest on silver plinths, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance.
The collection embraces a subtle '80s influence with sweaters featuring asymmetrical collars and video arcade-inspired stripes. Animal prints, reminiscent of the ocelot fur once used by founder Jeanne Lanvin, are seen on blousons, pants, and T-shirts, paying homage to the brand's iconic past.
However, Copping's design philosophy emphasizes timeless, heirloom-quality pieces. Dense, archival embroideries originally intended for cocktail dresses are reimagined as cool, dark dress shirts, while a brushed alpaca cocoon coat exudes a sense of intergenerational wearability.
In terms of footwear, Lanvin transitions away from its iconic Curb skating shoe, introducing a lighter iteration with a sock-like upper and a new low-profile sneaker featuring trapunto stitching. Named the Lnv2, this shoe is poised to become the next signature style for the brand, blending comfort and style seamlessly.
